Study: Emerging risks from cyber-physical systems

Physical devices and machines are increasingly computer-controlled and networked. At the same time, systems are becoming more complex, and the use of machine learning is leading to independent further development. It is becoming harder to pinpoint from outside why devices do what they do and what they will do next. New risks are emerging – and cyber risks are turning into physical risks. The changing risk landscape will also be reflected in the insurance business. In the study “Cyber-physical systems – an underestimated risk in networked times,” ti&m teams up with the Leipzig Insurance Forums to analyze the emerging risks associated with cyber-physical systems.
