What began in September 2024 as an ambitious joint project was completed at the end of May 2026: all 24 member banks of the ESPRIT Network now use ti&m Banking as their shared mobile and e-banking solution. Following the first go-live wave in November 2025, the migration was rolled out in several stages per bank and staggered across the entire network.

ESPRIT Network as central coordinator

The project placed high demands on all parties involved: more than 20 participating banks, different customer segments with corresponding requirements, and an ambitious timeline. As the central IT service provider and operator of the shared banking platform, the ESPRIT Network coordinated the collaboration between the individual banks, ti&m and other partners.

For Bernhard Fässler, CEO of ESPRIT Netzwerk AG, the project is proof of the strength of the network model: “The economies of scale and synergies of a shared banking platform are enormous. The same applies to the pooling of expertise and resources within the network, which becomes particularly evident in a project of this size.”

Open architecture as a decisive factor

In addition to performance and stability, ti&m Banking impressed the ESPRIT Network and the individual banks with its openness, broad range of functions and the ability to implement individual requirements for each bank. A key role is played by the ti&m Banking Adapter, which decouples the front end from the core banking system. It gives each bank the flexibility to implement individual modules and further developments without adding complexity for the entire network.

“What convinces us about ti&m Banking is the overall package: the unified solution for mobile and web banking, the range of functions, the bLink integration and, above all, the open architecture with the ti&m Banking Adapter, which makes us more independent of the core banking system and simplifies further development.”

Smooth go-live thanks to staggered migration

The migration of the banks and their clients took place in several stages per bank and was staggered across the entire network. This contributed significantly to a smooth implementation. Bernhard Fässler draws a positive conclusion: “The project was never critical. The migration went very well, and there were no unpleasant surprises at the end. All parties involved — the ESPRIT Network, ti&m, the banks and other partners — pulled together.”

Entering the next phase together

For ti&m and the ESPRIT Network, the completion of the migration does not mark the end of their collaboration, but the beginning of a new phase. The platform’s open architecture provides the foundation for this. “The successful completion of the migration is a milestone worth celebrating. But we are already looking ahead: together with the ESPRIT Network, we will continue to develop mobile and e-banking and implement new requirements,” says Thomas Wüst, CEO of ti&m.
