Working with ti&m, the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG) has created agridata.ch, a central data space for the agriculture and food sector. Organizations can request and use data in a standardized manner, while farmers can track who is accessing which data and for what purpose at any time. The data transfer service integrates data from various existing systems, streamlining administrative processes across the entire agriculture and food sector.

agridata, the new data space for Switzerland’s agriculture and food sector operated by the Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG), received the Gold Award for the most innovative project.

Starting point

agridata.ch is a centralized data transfer service that digitalizes and standardizes data transfer between participating systems. Data is entered only once and can be reused multiple times, provided the data providers give their consent.

Organizations submit a data use request, specifying the intended use. Based on this information, a standardized contract is then automatically generated. Only then do farmers decide whether to consent to the use of their data or to refuse it. The data is then transferred directly between the participating systems without being stored centrally.
