Business Data Events (BDE) and the Business Event Grid (BEG) form the basis for event-driven banking and ti&m Banking Integration

Avaloq customers increasingly needed to access core banking data not only through traditional online APIs or CAPI calls, but also by consuming Kafka messages. Avaloq now enables this through Business Data Events (BDE) and the Business Event Grid (BEG), which provide the data as an event stream. BEG also extends this capability to banks using Avaloq Sourcing (ASSL).

We have successfully validated the connection between Avaloq BDE/BEG event streams and ti&m Banking Integration in an initial proof of concept. Our aim is to integrate the events directly into the specialist systems and platforms that banks actually use—as a first step with a view to making this possible for ASSL banks as well in the future.

The proof of concept validated the connection between Avaloq BDE/BEG event streams and ti&m Banking Integration, producing positive results. Complexity arises from the need for data aggregation across multiple events and Avaloq-specific expertise. The integration for the balance overview, bookings, and trading can be viewed live in our demo environment.

We are planning to produce a more in-depth proof of concept using a bank’s Business Event Grid directly as the next step.
