Social security fully digital for the first time
Together with ti&m, SVA Aargau has created myCockpit, the first insured persons’ portal for the 1st pillar. Insured persons can use the self-service portal on desktop and mobile to complete various processes online and access documents, messages and case statuses. At the same time, myCockpit reduces the administrative workload for SVA Aargau.

The two core systems for OASI (AKIS) and DI (OSIV) have been integrated into the solution. Thanks to the integration of the core systems, the option to connect additional systems, the white-label design and the scalable multi-tenant architecture, myCockpit can also be used by other compensation offices and disability insurance offices in Switzerland.

Silver and bronze for myCockpit!

Silver in the “Productivity” category and bronze in “Innovation”: myCockpit was one of the big winners at Best of Swiss Web 2026.

Initial situation

Many processes were paper-based: forms were sent by post, documents were scanned and enquiries were processed manually. For insured persons, this meant little transparency regarding the current status of their requests and benefits. For SVA Aargau, it meant a high administrative workload and numerous follow-up enquiries.

At the same time, the demand for digital services that are available regardless of opening hours and location was increasing. Today, insured persons expect simple digital access to their social security benefits, comparable to digital services in other areas of life.

Solution

With myCockpit, a central insured persons’ portal has been created for the first time in the 1st pillar, digitally bringing these processes together. Insured persons can complete various services online, such as change requests for premium reductions, OASI registration or ordering an extract from their individual OASI account. Documents can be uploaded and processed directly, messages and ongoing processes are digitally available at any time, and communication and documents are transparently bundled in one place.

The solution also brings key benefits for SVA Aargau

New online services and processes can be flexibly expanded and further developed without fundamentally adapting existing core systems. At the same time, the specialist departments retain control over content, processes and the gradual digitalisation of their services.

From a technical perspective, the integration of the OASI and DI core systems is particularly relevant. Specialist processes and data flows between the portal and the core applications run automatically and without media discontinuity. The open, multi-tenant architecture makes it possible to roll out the solution to additional compensation offices and disability insurance offices. Following the successful go-live, myCockpit was handed over to the Interest Group of Compensation Offices (IGAKIS), and several compensation offices and disability insurance offices are already planning its introduction.

Impact

myCockpit creates an end-to-end digital service in the 1st pillar for the first time. Many requests can be completed entirely in self-service, independently of opening hours and without additional contact.

The clear and easy-to-understand user guidance is having an impact: more than 99 percent of users manage without support. At the same time, SVA Aargau employees also benefit from fewer manual intermediate steps and follow-up enquiries.

With end-to-end processes, direct access to social security benefits and an architecture designed for broad use by additional compensation offices and disability insurance offices, myCockpit is not just a new insured persons’ portal, but a scalable foundation for the digitalization of the 1st pillar in Switzerland.
